1. What we collect
Account information (name, email, company details, phone) that you or your attorney provide; the conversations you have with the assistant; documents you upload; and the matter summaries, review notes, and wrap-ups produced along the way.
2. Who can see it
Your workspace is contained: your attorney and you. Your conversations, documents, and matters are visible to your attorney (that’s the point — everything you enter is a communication to them) and never to other attorneys or other clients on TandemLegal. A small TandemLegal operations team can access data as needed to run and improve the service during the beta, under confidentiality obligations.
3. AI processing
Conversations and uploaded documents are processed by third-party AI model providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate the assistant’s responses. We use API access under terms that do not permit these providers to train their models on your data.
4. Where it lives
Data is stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase/AWS for the database and document storage, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email delivery). Communications are encrypted in transit; data is encrypted at rest by our storage providers.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your workspace is active so your attorney has a record of your communications. If you want something deleted, ask your attorney or the TandemLegal team and we’ll handle it — subject to anything your attorney is required to retain.
6. What we don't do
We don’t sell your data, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t share it with anyone outside the providers listed above except as required by law.
